Are You Qualified for the Executive Order?
Take Our Quiz And Find Out Below.
Thank you for reaching out to our office regarding the recent announcement by the Biden Administration on the Parole in Place Executive Order. We appreciate your proactive approach to staying informed about these important developments.
What is the Parole in Place Executive Order?
This Executive Order offers a new pathway to lawful permanent residency for immigrants who meet specific criteria. Here’s what we know so far:
Eligibility: This applies to immigrants married to a U.S. citizen (as of June 17, 2024) and have been physically present in the U.S. for at least ten years.
Benefits:
Obtain residency in the USA without leaving the country (Parole in Place).
No requirement for a waiver of unlawful presence.
Potentially faster path to lawful permanent residency.
Important Note:
We are still waiting for the official Regulations to be published by USCIS. These regulations will provide crucial details such as:
Specific evidence required for applications.
Associated fees.
The official filing start date.
President Biden has indicated these regulations are expected by the end of summer.
Our Recommendations:
While we await the regulations, here’s what you can do:
Start gathering evidence: Collect documents like your ID, marriage certificates (or divorce/death certificates if applicable), and proof of your physical presence in the U.S. for the past ten years (rent receipts, utility bills, etc.).
Stay informed: Contact our office immediately once the regulations are published and a filing date is announced.
Continue with pending cases: If you have any existing immigration cases with USCIS, continue pursuing them as usual.
Beware of Immigration Fraud:
Unfortunately, with new immigration policies, scams can emerge. Please be cautious of:
Unethical lawyers or people pretending to be lawyers.
Unrealistic promises or guarantees.
